Recipe – Dark Orange & Salty Chocolate Almond Spread

Dark Chocolate & Orange Salty Almond spread As I run long distances which can last for many hours I find there is nothing more my
body craves than some salt and dark chocolate. So this is the perfect spread to eat
on my sandwiches whilst I am running on the beautiful trails.
Bonus is that no animals have been used or abused to produce this spread. All my recipes
are vegan, not because I am on a health cruise to be more healthy. It’s because I
believe it is morally wrong to use or abuse animals. We do not need to do this. It is
all to pleasure our taste-buds at the end of the day.
So as Prof Gary Francione describes it:

If you are not vegan, please go vegan. Veganism is about nonviolence.
First and foremost,it’s about nonviolence to other sentient beings. But it’s
also about nonviolence to the earth and nonviolence to yourself.

2 C unsalted roasted almonds
1/3 C dark chocolate 70%
2 tsp coconut oil
2 tsp cocoa powder
1 tsp salt flakes
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp agave syrup
Zest 1/2 oranges
Place the roasted almonds into a food processor or blend until the resemble a
coarse texture
In a pot add the dark chocolate, cocoa powder and coconut oil at a low heat
and melt to a spreadable consistency
Now add in the pot the vanilla extract, orange zest, agave syrup and combine with melted chocolate mixture
Add the coarse textured almonds with the chocolate mixture and combine well
The viscosity of the chocolate mixture should resemble an easy to spread consistency
Then transfer the spread into a glass jar
Keep in a pantry at room temperature as it is easier to spread or leave in the fridge then
take it out wait for 20 minutes until the spread has soften enough to not destroy your toast or bread
