Land of Smiles – Buddhist Temple – Karon

I guess we are not the typical tourists that come to Thailand. We enjoy visiting the Buddhist temples, markets, eating out and mixing with the locals. We both love architecture and especially the beautifully designed temples. Many of our mates and relatives dive into the alcohol fuelled unconscious state as it is pretty cheap here. $1 for a bottle of beer that would cost $7 back in Australia or a $10 for a bottle of Thai whisky !! I suppose we like soaking up the culture without having a sore head in the morning. !!
Here are a few photos of our trip to the Buddhist temple called Wat Suwan Khiri Khet (Wat Karon)
There are statues portraying Buddha’s life which is surrounded by two green serpents.
We lit some incense sticks and thought about a few nice things and wishes for people we love that no longer are with us.
